Prospect Park in Brooklyn is the 4th spot, and is also not very crowded usually. Numerous parties are held all over the city, making it the perfect place to enjoy a fun night. Be sure to book tickets for these parties in advance, and make sure you know exactly what’s included – whether it is food, drinks, the entry fee and so on.

Another very popular event for fitness enthusiasts is a fun 4-mile run sponsored by the New York Road Runners Organization. The run starts at Bethesda Terrace exactly at the stroke of midnight, and is set underneath a minute fireworks display that promises to make your experience magical.

There are several popular shows that take place on New Year’s Eve. You can catch renowned stars such as Javier Camarena, Angel Blue, and Pretty Yende in action as you enjoy an unforgettable performance. A boat cruise is one of the best ways to explore the city. You can enjoy some live music and some delicious food while catching stunning views of the famous New York skyline. You can see the skyline lit up at night, making your cruise straight out of a fairytale. This is the perfect experience for a date, although it can be a little heavy on the pockets.

Take a ride on the massive Ferris Wheel and catch the breathtaking fireworks display. If you enjoy going to a beachside carnival for some fun activities on NYE, Coney Island is the perfect spot. Don’t miss a chance to get on one of Manhattan’s iconic ice skating rinks to celebrate the new year. This is the only free skating rink in the city!

Wollman Rink in Central Park also makes for a magical skating experience with breathtaking views. Tips: Visitors have to reserve a time slot online before arriving, even at the rinks that don’t charge admission. Dine at a restaurant of your choice and enjoy delicious food and alcohol for a low-key New Year’s Eve in New York City.

Make your reservations in advance because things can get crowded on New Year’s Eve. Brooklyn is a great place to escape the huge crowds in Manhattan on New Year’s Eve. Many tourists go here for great views of the fireworks along with drinks, food and a palpable atmosphere of joy and celebration. From midnight until AM, trains run around every 20 minutes.

Due to the NYE celebrations, some subway stations and streets are barricaded early in the day. Be sure to check the subway website for the latest updates. Bus: Purchase a MetroCard at the nearest subway station.

There will be plenty of traffic, so prepare in advance accordingly. However, do note that it gets quite crowded, so heading to the landmark early is a good idea. Be sure to wear multiple layers of clothing and cover your neck since the temperature can go below freezing at night. Wear comfortable walking shoes since you will be doing quite a bit of walking 5throught the day and night. To gain access to washrooms and other amenities, you can purchase a ticket to an event at one of the businesses on Times Square.

On the last day of the year, it will be even more of a magical place than it usually is. That is because you will get a first-class view of the fireworks, which illuminates the sky above Long Meadow and the large clearing in Prospect Park, for about 15 magical minutes.

Presented by the Prospect Park Alliance, the event is free to attend and starts at PM with live music and hot beverages! One popular option is the one by iBoatNYC. This 3-hour, scenic cruise departs from Pier 40 at Hudson River Park, featuring captivating views of the Manhattan skyline from all four decks, live music, and DJs! The former features special guest performances, while the latter gives you direct access to the outdoor deck that features Jazz music and more.

If your office building is near 42nd Street and Broadway or 7th Avenue, and your floor is high enough, you might be lucky to see the fireworks right from your work desk.

The chance to meet the two criteria is slim, but it is worth a try if you want to avoid the crowds. Honestly, any tall buildings in Lower Manhattan will do, and the city is full of charming rooftops overlooking the entire Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn.

One of our favorites is Fifth located, just as its name suggests, at 5th Ave. You will enjoy sweeping views of the city and the fireworks alongside classic and specialty cocktails. The terrace is spacious and large enough to accommodate up to 1,00 people at the same time! There is also an indoor lounge with views through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Expect hefty cover fees and limited spots for most bars, but it will be all worth it. Meanwhile, pop some popcorn, cook something nice, and open a bottle of champagne. Think of a down jacket, a pair of snow boots, hats, gloves, and scarves. Also, pack a bag of snacks, water, hot chocolate, a book, or toys to keep yourself or the little ones entertained.
