Dennis Nett dnett syracuse. Second booster shots against Covid are being offered at New York state mass vaccination sites for those who are eligible, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced on Saturday. Last week, the federal government approved a second Covid booster shot for ages 50 and up and for some people who are immunocompromised. New York state is following those guidelines in the distribution of the boosters. Those wishing to schedule an appointment to get a booster can schedule an appointment online.

The fairgrounds site is open from 8 a. Mondays through Saturdays and 8 a. In addition to the fairgrounds, appointments for booster shots are available at several local pharmacies. Adults 50 and older can receive a second booster at least four months after their first booster. Also eligible for the second booster are New Yorkers 12 years and older who are moderately to severely immunocompromised.
