I do like the box case and but the it is destroy and bent like it got messed up in package but the steelbooks are perfectly fine. One person found this helpful. I’m not sure what the “industry definition” of “Remastered” is, but to me it means you take the original film and remaster it to 4K. This just looks exactly like my upscaled copy.

Sad, I’m just going to stop buying “Rmastered 4K movies” They’re just not matching the quality of playback I expect. That being said, if you don’t own it in Blu-ray, then it is worth the purchase. I gave it a 5-star rating what more are you asking for. The track does find plenty of energy in the triple water fall scene, where the crashing liquid surrounds the stage and delivers so much power that the neighbors won’t fall back asleep for a week.

Even better, the clarity of the moment is unbeatable; it’s not just a barrage of sound but a barrage of accurate sound. Even the more subtle effects impress in placement, spacing, and movement. Floating gunpowder it makes sense in the movie flies from one speaker to the next with seamless precision.

Lifelike ambient effects surround the viewer, whether the din of a hectic crowd of teenagers waiting to visit with Dr. Jones or the cacophony of Peruvian wildlife heard in various exterior scenes. It’s a wonderful track, and with its pitch-perfect dialogue reproduction, it’s at the very least as good as the rest of the Indy listens, if not the best and most finely detailed of the bunch.

Mike S. Top Contributor: Star Wars. This set contains the other iconic series of movies that Harrison Ford starred in, starting with ‘s Raiders of the Lost Ark, and going through ‘s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The concept of the series is that Indiana Jones, played by Ford, is a professor and archaeologist who hunts for artifacts in Raiders it was the Ark of the Covenant, in Temple of Doom it is sacred stones, in The Last Crusade it was The Holy Grail, and in the last movie it is the titular crystal skull. The time frame in which the movies are set spans from the mids to the s and pit Jones against a range of enemies from Nazis to Russians.

There are a ton of extras, including a new hour-long on-set documentary for Raiders that includes interviews, bloopers, outtakes, and deleted scenes mixed into the behind-the-scenes material. The rest of the extras are ported over from the DVD releases, including a five-part making-of documentary and then several featurettes that range in length from a few minutes to about twenty minutes.

Each movie gets a lot of material, but Raiders gets the most. Overall, this is a quality set. There are some who complain that Crystal Skull is included, which to me is just silly. If there is going to be a collection of the movies, it is going to include all of the movies. If you don’t want Crystal Skull you can buy the movies individually and get just the ones you want. I personally have never understood the hate for Crystal Skull. Yes, it has a plot that involves aliens, but Radiers had people’s face-melting, and The Last Crusade had someone turn into a skeleton.

So, the movies have not exactly been based on total reality. While I do not think it is as good as some of the other movies in the series, it is not nearly as bad as some make it out to be. My only complaint about the set is the packaging. It does appear that newer sets have updated packaging, but if you end up with the older sets, it has the horrible paper sleeves that you have to pull the discs out, which can cause the discs to get scratched. That is what knocks it down a star for me, but content-wise, the movies range from good to great, and there is hours of bonus content if you like watching that.

So, it is a great pickup. Managed to get this set on an amazing sale! I mean Harrison Ford and Sean Connery- ohhhh my! See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. Translate all reviews to English. This is a bit of a mixed bag.

Less important stuff first. The packaging is okay. It’s not great It’s functional. Physical extras The foldout sheet is okay I would have expected either more or nothing at all. As it is it it sort of sits in the middle and leaves me feeling very much like “why did they even bother”?

The films themselves Well this is awkward. Are the films better than their previous blu-ray counterparts? There is grain. Not to the extent of being obtrusive I normally hate grain but somehow I didn’t think it looked very filmic either.

It seemed to me to be a bit inconsistent, so even though it wasn’t obtrusive it was occasionally all the more jarring as a result. The image itself is sometimes very, very soft and it does not look like 4K. There are a few scenes that are great but nothing that wowed me. That’s not the disc itself though The colours are better and more natural which has to be a good thing , but in some ways the over the top saturation of the previous versions gives a more comic book feel that seems to suit the tone of the film overall.

The sound is again something that was certainly up to the task and I didn’t really find any fault with it. The answer then has to be yes. Overall it’s better than the previous blu-ray version The sound is better. The image is better. The colours are a lot better.

It’s not a showcase presentation though. Nothing about it is good enough to allow you to show off the films. Other films of the same age have had much better quality 4K releases Alien for example.

So fans will buy this at full price and probably not feel too cheated. Anyone else though can probably wait until the price drops a bit. Or a lot. Hopefully I will get a result, if the discs are at fault then Paramount will have to replace the faulty discs. Until the matter is resolved, I will reserve judgement on this entire collection Additional Issues Got a replacement recently from amazon, unfortunately I received a damaged copy, see photograph.

Translate review to English. Take for instance the scene in the tomb at about where Indy finds the ark but is surrounded by snakes.

Another nice HDR moment is at approximately when Indy and the digging team discover the opening to the temple where the ark has been kept. This scene has lightning strikes and thunder clouds that render with excellent color range through HDR. And, when Indy and Sallah lift the ark there are blue flashes from the lightning that contrast the bold color of the ark.

Be careful with HDR though. As we learned with this title and others the colors can be thrown off immensely. If the colors just seem ridiculous like the TV shots below there is probably something wrong with your setup. HDR should enhance color and contrast to be more realistic, not unrealistic.

Do yourself a favor and make sure your TV is set to movie mode instead of Dynamic or Sports, otherwise, the colors may be too exaggerated. Get it Thu, Oct 13 – Wed, Oct Audio CD. Currently unavailable. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Steelbook.
